The Ikumo Lodge stands at the top of Mt. Engyo. There are white holy mountains (Hakus-san) on the east side of Ikumo. The horizon of the Japan Sea and the Noto peninsula lies on the west side. Ikumo is the best location between Kanazawa City and Echizen Matsushima to appreciate these sites. At Ikumo Lodge you will wake up with the shining sun and warbles of wild birds in the morning, you will see the sun set on the Japan Sea at dusk, and you will be able to count the number of brilliantly shining stars in the sky on a clear night. If you surrender yourself to nature’s cycle and appreciate nature’s magnificence, you will free your spirit from worry and pain. This will help you realize that you are using some other energy and nature to keep you alive. You can do yoga, meditate, go trekking, transcribe sutras or do anything you would like to in order to refresh yourself. The house has been standing for 130 years, and has long been the home to hardworking people of a hundred works. Today, it is a place for people, both inside and outside of this town to interact. The historic Sojiji Soin Temple also offers a "shukubo", or "temple stay" with prior reservations. Guests are provided with simple, traditional Japanese-style rooms featuring tatami mat floors and sliding doors (fusuma). Bedding is provided in the form of futon, which is spread out on the tatami floor during the night. Gas heaters are provided for warmth in winter. One of the highlights of staying at Sojiji Soin are the vegetarian meals (shojin ryori), which developed around the Buddhist moral precepts that prohibit taking the lives of other creatures. As such, shojin ryori abstains from using meat or fish and substitutes it with protein-rich plant products such as tofu and konyaku (devils tongue jelly).

In addition, visitors are invited to watch or participate in activities such as morning prayers or meditation, as well as a Zazen (sitting meditation) technique training sessions. Travelers and/or pilgrims have an excellent chance to experience the simple, austere lifestyle of Buddhist monks, while staying at a functioning Zen temple.

This temple is fortunate to have a German monk who speaks both German and English to assist non-Japanese speaking guests.

The Noto no Sho Ryokan is located at the east end of Wajima City along the Sea of Japan coast. It's well maintained rooms and public areas add to one's enjoyment. All hallways feature tatami mats and each room commands a panoramic view of the Sea of Japan. Female guests are provided with a yukata (Japanese cotton kimono) of their choice. Food is served on traditional Wajima lacquer ware. It has various relaxing options for onsen baths.

The Lamp no Yado Ryokan is a deluxe, 5-star ryokan located in a site that is rated as one of the 3 most spiritual places in Japan. The story is that the inn was founded around 1790 by descendants of the survivors of the Heike clan who lost a war against the Genji at the end of the 12th century. They wanted to be hidden in a secluded area, and accomplished it beautifully. The modern iteration has only 15 rooms and normally requires reservations ten months in advance! It is the only ryokan in the "Yoshigaura Onsen" area. Only dinner and breakfast are served.

The Hyakurakuso Hotel is a very beautiful, modern and luxurious hotel located on a bluff overlooking the picturesque Tsukumo Bay (九十九湾). There are both indoor and outdoor shared baths (not hot spring baths) for women and men at Hyakurakuso, and there is also a "family bath" that guests can reserve in order to bathe privately.
